July 2014 Favourites!

Wow, July has flown by so quickly it’s frightening! Yet another busy month, lots of exciting things happening in Dolly World! Wedding plans are well under way, and we’re even looking for a house now aswell!!

With this being said, I am having to be a super thrifty Dolly, and have decided to work my way through the mountains of products that I already have, rather than splurging on new!

It’s felt quite horrible at times, but I am being so strict! I was desperate to treat myself to a posh high end lippy, as I saw Debenhams had £5 off YSL lipsticks today *sigh*, but I stayed strong and had a delve into my make up bag instead.

Here are my top 5 re-discovered favourites for July!

Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser
I love love love this! I don’t usually wear a base, but now I’m at the ripe of age of 25, I feel like sometimes my skin can look a little dull – especially now I’m working in an air conditioned office all day.

This product gives a really light and subtle coverage, with a lovely dewy finish. I feel like my skin can still breathe, and still looks really natural. This product makes my skin feel really hydrated and has lasted for ages, as have all the products I’m telling you about today – a little goes a long way!

MAC Mineralize Skinfinish
I have this in ‘Medium Deep’ and even though I use it all the time, it barely looks touched!

I absolutely adore this, because the colour is so buildable and blends beautifully. I am sooooo pale, and this doesn’t make me look like an oompa loompa – so top marks here. Even better still – no shimmer! 10/10 for you MAC.

NARS Blush in ‘Orgasm’
I got this as a treat a few months ago, and although I think it’s a colour better suited to cold weather (it’s gorgeous and looks really warm), I just can’t wait until summers over to use it!

Having never been into glitter or shimmer at all, I was slightly alarmed to find that this product has gold flecks throughout (the joys of online shopping). However, I am so glad I bought it, as having worn this product daily for the last couple of months I have totally changed my opinion.

Again, this builds and blends so nicely, and lasts all day! I’ve got my eye on another shade, but I’ll have to wait for now!

Clinique Blended Face Powder
I have had this literally for years. I should probably throw it out but it really seems no different from when I purchased it, and the thrifty voice in my head tells me to keep it!

I fell out of love with powder a long time ago, when I started working abroad in hot places like Zante, Kos and Cyprus – fighting shine was just a pointless battle, so this was left at home and was resigned to the back of the cupboard.

Having rummaged and found this, it has been so useful this month! I thought I might end up looking ‘cakey’ having not used powder for so long, but I forgot how great this powder is for sorting out my T zone! Also, it’s amazing at setting my make up and keeping it looking fresher for longer! This has been so handy this month – I will not be forgetting about this little gem any time soon!

Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Eye
Last but not least, I had to mention this beaut of a product. As I’m stressing about being in my mid-twenties now, I am doing everything I can to prevent any dreaded wrinkles occurring! I’ve been using this for around a month now, and although I can’t really tell if it’s working (no signs of wrinkles yet -phew!) I can’t express how lovely this cream feels on my skin.

Once applied, it actually feels as though the skin is tightening, and even slightly tingles. It feels gorgeous on the skin, and psychologically makes me feel like I’m doing some good!

I’d love to know what you guys have been loving this month – link me to your blogs in the comments!

Have another fabulous month 🙂
